The Microsoft Certified Solutions Associate: Web Development course is designed to prepare students for undertaking two exams – Exam 70-480: Programming in HTML5 with JavaScript and CSS3 and Exam 70-486: Developing ASP.NET MVC Web Applications which are mandatory to get certified as MCSA: Web Development. This course has been subdivided into two parts to help students for each exam individually.
The first course titled Programming in HTML5 with JavaScript and CSS3 is designed to prepare students to undertake Exam 70-480: Programming in HTML5 with JavaScript and CSS3. This course covers the basics concepts of HTML, CSS, and JavaScript.After completing Course 20480B a student will be able to design HTML pages and make them more attractive using CSS and interactive using JavaScript. This course covers a wide range of concepts including defining and using variables, implementing programming logic, performing looping and branching, capturing and validating user input, developing user interfaces, storing data, and creating a well-structured application.
The second course- Developing ASP.NET MVC Web Applications is designed to prepare students to undertake Exam 70-486: Developing ASP.NET MVC Web Applications which is the second exam that needs to be passed to attain the certification – MCSA: Web Applications. During this course, students learn about .NET framework and how it can be used to develop complex ASP.NET Web applications. This course aims to train students to program in such a way that it increases scalability and perform of an application. After completing this course, students will be able to apply the concepts learned through the training for developing websites with the separate user interface, data access, and application logic.
Passing these two exams is necessary to get certified as MCSA: Web Development and hence demonstrate your competency as an expert in Web Development.

Candidates can achieve this certification by passing the following exam(s).

- Using Web Worker processes for improving the responsiveness of a Web application that performs long-running operations.
- Describing the Microsoft Web Technologies stack and selecting an appropriate technology for developing any given application.
- Designing the architecture and implementation of a web application that will meet user interface requirements, functional requirements, and address business models.
- Creating MVC Models and writing code for implementing business logic within Model methods, properties, and events.
- Adding Controllers to an MVC Application for managing user interaction, update models, and select and return Views.
- Creating Views in an MVC application which displays and edits data and interacts with Models and Controllers.
- Running unit tests and debugging tools against a web application in Visual Studio 2012 and configuring an application for troubleshooting.
